Algerian Journalists Committee for breaking siege on Saharawi struggle

Algiers, August 20, 2015 (SPS) - Algerian Journalists Committee in solidarity with Takbar Haddi has invited journalists across the world to act so to break the silence and siege imposed on the struggle of Saharawi people, in a petition addressed to the United Nations.
In a press conference held in the Saharawi media center in Algiers on Thursday, the Committee called for action to ensure the respect for international legitimacy in Western Sahara and the right of the Saharawi people to freedom and independence.
They also expressed absolute solidarity with the legitimate struggle of the Saharawi people to regain freedom and dignity.
Copies of the petition will also be delivered to the European Union (EU), Arab League, African Union (AU) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.
The petition have so far signed by intellectuals, journalists and jurists from Algeria, Spain, United States of America, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Portugal, among other countries. (SPS)
